This Cuban living in Barcelona is part of the third generation of troubadours and presents influences of Latin American rhythms, Spanish music, and flamenco in his repertoire and musical style. His vocal and instrumental arrangements show a deep knowledge of polyrhythm and polyphony, essential elements of Cuban music, which translates into a work with the guitar carefully conceived.
As a result of all this and during his career Carlos Lage has shared the stage -among others- with troubadours such as Compay Segundo, César Portillo de la Luz, Silvio Rodríguez, Vicente Feliú, etc. He was the co-founder of Habana with Cola, a duet of son Cubano that succeeded where he happened. Among his most outstanding performances are his concerts at Casa de las Américas, in Havana. In Spain, he has performed in the best venues in Madrid, Barcelona and the Basque Country.
